What is the Supervisor Password?
Please contact the main MaxLoad
Pro user at your facility or TOPS Technical Support.
Should I make backup copies of my installation diskettes?
No.
The software you've purchased is copy-protected. Backup copies of the diskette(s) will not operate and cannot be used to install MaxLoad Pro. If
the diskette(s) are damaged and you are current on MVP we will replace
your damaged license key diskette at no cost. Otherwise, we will replace
it for a small fee. However, if the software license is lost, there
is a replacement fee.
What
special steps should I take to move the MaxLoad Pro software to a different
machine?
Moving the software to a
new machine requires uninstalling the authorization back onto the floppy. Follow
these instructions:
- Place the original key
floppy diskette in floppy drive
- Run MaxLoad Pro,
login. Go to Help | Adjust Authorization pull down menu
- Select uninstall to
floppy
- Adjust the source and
destination directories as needed; then select OK
Once the authorization has been moved back onto the floppy, you may
re-install the software as if it was freshly shipped from TOPS. If you
want to maintain your old data, copy the contents of the Data folder from
your old installation location to the Data folder of the new one.
For more information, please contact TOPS Technical Support.

I am getting a new hard disk for
my computer. What do I do then?
Follow these instructions:
- Before changing out your hard drive or installing a new operating
system (such as Windows 95 or 2000), uninstall the software, as outlined
in question 2
- Backup the old installation
- Replace the hard drive or
upgrade Windows
- Run SETUP off the original
floppy diskette (s) to install MaxLoad Pro again
- Copy the subdirectories from under the old MaxLoad Pro installation
over the top of the new MaxLoad Pro installation
I can log in to the MaxLoad Pro with the viewer mode only!
In most cases, this indicates a
problem with the authorization. Call TOPS Technical Support for
assistance. Have your original diskettes handy, along with the exact text
of the error message.
When I try to run MaxLoad Pro, I get an error message that says, "Maximum of 1 user(s)
already logged in." But I know that no one else is using the program.
What's going on?
This message most often occurs when someone has logged into MaxLoad Pro and
crashed out of the program instead of exiting MaxLoad Pro. The system thinks the user
is still logged in.
Logging in as someone other than the one who crashed out results in the
message, "Maximum of N users already logged in. "N" is normally
one (1) unless you've purchased additional user licenses.
You can get around this message with one of two options:
- Log in as the same person
that crashed, then log him / her out
- Login as the Supervisor,
then use the File | User login, to logout any extra user (s)

MaxLoad is not loading my items correctly, what
am I doing wrong?
There are probably several reasons for this . With so many variables
involved, there are several places to look.
Go to Define| SKU and check through all the tabs. Most likely there is a
stacking rule that needs to be modified. Please refer to the "How Do
I" section for walkthroughs of common MaxLoad Pro functions.
How do I tell what version of MaxLoad Pro I have?
In MaxLoad
Pro, open the Help menu
and select About. A dialog box will appear with version information there.

The lines on MaxLoad Pro's reports are too fine. When I fax the
reports, the lines are so narrow they almost disappear and have gaps. Fix it.
Follow
the following steps
- Open the Tools menu and
select Configuration
- Move the Printer resolution
bar to the right
This only affects printed output. The Print Preview and other on-screen
drawings will still appear with normal (one-dot width) lines.
I'm trying to remove all the MaxLoad
Pro files after uninstalling. What
do I need to delete?
Other than the files in the TOPS PRO directory and its subdirectories,
TOPS PRO makes three adjustments to your system:
- It creates a MAXLOAD2.INI
file in the local Windows or WINNT directory

shortcuts used to start the program in Start | Programs | TOPS for Windows
Apps menu

How do I use stack matrix?
The Stack Matrix allows you to
define the stacking relationships between the various stack codes, which
are assigned to SKU’s in the Define SKU screen. The stackability matrix
is a square matrix (similar to a row and column spreadsheet such as Lotus
1-2-3 or Microsoft Excel); this matrix contains one row and one column for
each stack code.
To access the stackability matrix, start from the Define Shipcase screen,
open the Define menu and select Stack Matrix.
System Response: The Stack Rules screen appears, along with the
stackability matrix.
Notice that the Stack Rules screen contains the following buttons, plus
one field, in the toolbar area:
OK Button: Accepts all changes made to the stack matrix during the current
visit, then returns you to the Define SKU screen.
Cancel: Cancels all changes made to the stack matrix during the current
visit, then returns you to the Define SKU screen.
Delete Button: Deletes a stack code. To delete a stack code, you must
select the row header, as opposed to the column header.
Add Button: Allows you to add a new stack code through the Define New
Stack Code dialog box. Yes Button: Allows you to change all answers to Yes for a particular row
or column.
No Button: Allows you to change all answers to No for a particular row or
column.
Rebuild Button: Searches the SKU database for any stack codes that have
not been added to the Stack Matrix. MaxLoad Pro updates the Stack Matrix
with the new stack codes.
Sort Field: Allows you to sort the Stack Codes in ascending order
(alphabetically), descending order (alphabetically), or by insertion
order.
When you define an SKU, the stack matrix initializes automatically. When
you enter a new stack code, MaxLoad Pro adds a new row and column to the
matrix. Each entry in the matrix is a box marked with a “Yes” or
“No.” The Yes/No indicates whether an SKU with the stack code for the
corresponding column can be loaded on top of an SKU with the stack code
for the corresponding row.
The stack codes across the top of the matrix (columns) are considered the
“top” SKU, while the stack codes along the side of the matrix (rows)
are considered the “bottom” SKU.
Click on column and row headers to highlight the entire row or column (or
both). Use the gray scroll bar or the arrow keys to move around the stack
matrix.
